So, I want to talk about European steam locomotives and why I find them very interesting. European steam locos have a great look, especially the German variety. The Germans have a red accent on a lot of the wheels and the buffers of their locomotives. This really catches the eye!
Other European steamers have varying colors like the A4 Mallard, which is blue, or The Flying Scotsman, which is sometimes green. Compared to the American counterpart, usually being all black with a white trim or wheels, it's exotic. This is why adding them to your layout is a great idea!
If you have a layout that is set in the United States, have no fear, you can still run European locos! Even the most prototypical of individuals can run them. The reason being that in the past the English sent over The Flying Scotsman to perform special excursions. So with that, why not make your own special excursions? Bring those trains from across the pond and have more fun with your layouts!
