This museum is located in the town North East, PA just about half and hour east of Erie, PA. The collection there is one of amazement; more than half a dozen locomotives, mixed freight, and passenger cars. Sitting on the property is also an original NYC train station filled with memorabilia and models.

The museum was wonderful to visit because we were allowed to go up inside the cab of two engines, walk through multiple passenger cars, and explore two cabooses. One of the cars we got to walk through was a NYC executive car, built in the 1920s that possibly transported Al Capone from New York to Chicago. It was amazing to see the inner details of the car and the luxury people would have ridden in. A diesel locomotive that was open for us to climb up into was recently repainted to its factory Chessie System scheme. This loco shined like it just rolled off the floor! Finally, one of the cabooses we explored was from the late Conrail. Seeing the inside let you step into the life of riding the rails at the end of long freight train heading from Buffalo to Cleveland.

The last thing was the staff. There was an older gentleman that was working while we were there and he was wonderful! He caught up with us while we were checking out a narrow gauge shunting loco and started to fill us in on some facts about pieces at the museum. He was the one that offered us the opportunity to climb into the NYC executive car. He told us some facts about the car along with more famous people that could have ridden inside.

I highly recommend making a stop at the Museum if you get the chance! It was a wonderful experience and I will be going back very soon! If I had to give it a number out of 10, it would receive a 12/10 from me and my fiance! Now don't forget to subscribe to the site for future postings and follow me on Reddit!
