Why I Freelance

Freelance model railroading brings me the most enjoyment from this hobby. With freelance my only limit is my imagination. I can place anything I want on my layout from a convenient store to having the Loch Ness Monster in a river or lake!

Trying to be prototypical becomes too stressful for me when searching for era-specific locomotives, automobiles, buildings, and figures. Freelancing gives me freedom to run whatever I want. I could run Union Pacific 1943 with a NYC steam locomotive, be it a consist or separate tracks. I can set up a crazy scene with aliens and dinosaurs. My layout is my world to have fun with and still make it look amazing.

I have gone to shows with freelance layouts set up, and without fail, they catch mine and my fiance's attention right away. Big foot, aliens, and whatever else add a personal touch that make those layouts more entertaining! Adding a freelancer's touch to your layout will catch your family's, friends', and others' attention. It helps you enjoy this hobby alongside many others!
